When the mountaineers think of Himalaya expedition with the objective of reaching the top of 8000 meter peak with comparatively little efforts, Shishapangma in Tibet would be a good choice for climbing. Normally three camps will be set up in the approach of the mountain above the advance base camp. We arrange both the logistic support to ABC and fully guided Shishapangma expedition.

Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu (1350m.) and transfer to Hotel
Day 02-03: Visa, Briefing & Preparing Expedition
Day 04: Drive to Kodari, Transfer to Zhangmu (2300M.) hotel
Day 05: Drive Nylam 3750m. Its one of the towering peak that stands with Everest well above the surrounding mountains. Cho Oyu became a familiar landmark to climbers ascending Everest's north face.

Just west of Cho Oyu is the Nangpa La, a 19,000-foot glacier pass, the main trade route between the Khumbu Sherpas and Tibet. Cho Oyu's proximity to the Nangpa La has earned it the distinction among some climbers as being the easiest 8,000 meter peak. It was the third such peak climbed, and the first climbed in Autumn. It was first climbed on October 19th 1954 by the Austrian Herbert Tichy, with Sepp Jochler and Pasang Dava Lama.

Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu (1350m.) transfer hotel
Day 02: Kathmandu
Day 03: Kathmandu
Day 04: Drive to Kodari & transfer Zhangmu 2300m.
Day 05: Drive Nylam 2750m.
Day 06: Nylam rest for acclimatization
Day 07: Drive Tingri 4340m.
Day 08: Rest of day for acclimatized
Day 09: Drive to Chinese Base Camp 5000m.
Day 10: Chinese Base Camp
Day 11: Prepared load to Yak for Advance Base Camp.
Day 12: Base Camp - Middle camp with Yaks
Day 13: Middle Camp - Cho Oyu Advance Base Camp 5700m.
Day 14-39: Climbing Period for Cho Oyu 8201m.
Day 40: Advance Base camp - Chinese Base camp
Day 41: drive Base Camp - Zhangmu
Day 42: Drive Zhangmu - Kathmandu
Day 43: Kathmandu
Day 44: Kathmandu
Day 45: Final Departure

Mt. Everest Expedition (Tibet)

Tibet Expedition - Everest North Side (8,848 Metres) - 55 Days

Everest is perhaps the most coveted mountain in the world. The north (Tibetan) side is the least expensive way to climb it, and the dates we have chosen feature the best weather of the year. Our proposed schedule allows for two possible summit attempts and two full descents to the Chinese basecamp at 5200 metres. Our style of climbing is cautious and careful, with excellent leadership, organization, Sherpa climbers, cooks and waiters, tasty food, the best equipment, two full kitchens and basecamp plus advanced basecamp, 6 camps on the mountain, 1000s of metres of fxed line, hundreds of rock ice and snow anchors, top-quality high altitude tents and high altitude stoves, expedition mix gas, and full safety equipment: medical oxygen, gamow bag, and extensive medical kit.

This expedition to Everest maximizes many years of accumulated wisdom of the high Himalaya, a strong record of reaching the top of 8,000ers: Everest, K2, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, Shishapangma, and many other 8,000 metre summits, in addition to more than 25 Himalayan expeditions, in all safety, along with an intimate knowledge of the Tibetan and Chinese officials who regulate the permit system.

The monkey temple makes a nice training walk in Kathmandu (Franck Pitula. Try to go at dawn when the pollution is not so bad. A local woman leaving an offering at a temple (Ryan Waters).

Detailed Description
The trip begins in the ancient and colorful city of Kathmandu. On the Friendship Bridge, border Crossing between Nepal and Tibet. Upon entering Tibet, the clocks immediately go forward by 2 ? hours. Our secondary government liason officer will meet us in Zhangmu. After clearing Tibetan customs and immigration, a Chinese bus takes us up the windy road through the rolling hills to Nyalam town at 3,750 meters, and a basic "hotel". The smaller towns in Tibet are generally simple and rustic places, and this one is no exception. The topography here is quite interesting in that we are perched in the transitional zone where the Tibetan plateau rams into the Himalaya, then drops into the forested valleys and jungles of Nepal, and finally out into the Gangetic plain of the Terai and India. We stay over one extra night in Nyalam, to help adjust to the altitude, and during our "rest-day" in Nyalam, we take advantage of the interesting surroundings to walk to the top of local hills and savor the first glimpses of the Himalayan Giants.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu & transfer hotel
Day 02: Kathmandu Hotel
Day 03: Kathmandu Hotel
Day 04: Drive Zhangmu, Hotel
Day 05: Drive to Naylam, Hotel
Day 06: Drive to Tingri, Hotel
Day 07: Rest day for Acclimatized
Day 08: Drive Chinese Base Camp
Day 09 -12: Transfer Yak to Advance Base Camp
Day 13-49: Climbing Period of Everest 8848m.
Day 50: Drive to Tingri
Day 51: Drive to Zhanmu
Day 52: Drive Border exit and drive to Kathmandu.
Day 53: Kathmandu
Day 54: Kathmandu
Day 55: Final Departure

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://tibetkailashtour.blogspot.com/2008/11/mt-everest-expedition-tibet.html' title='Mt. This land beyond the mighty Himalayas, on the highest plateau of the world, was inaccessible to the outside world and has always been a challenge to all mortal beings as a unique destination: Tibet is a land of spectacular skylines, majestic mountain peaks, breath taking canyons, serene high-land lakes, rolling pastures and farmlands & pristine Forests. It also is a land of ancient Buddhist culture, artistic monasteries and centuries-old caravan trails. Its snow-covered mountains and windswept plateau are the highest in the world. The world's highest mountain - Mount Everest, rises in southern Tibet. Ka-erh in western Tibet, with an elevation of more than 15,000 feet (4,570 meters) above sea level, is believed to be the highest town in the world. The valley bottoms in Tibet are higher than the mountains of most countries.
